Wahl was charged with assault with intent to rob while armed. His preliminary examination is scheduled for Jan. 3 in district court. No court date has yet been scheduled for Dickerson.

Dickerson and Wahl were arrested in connection with the assault of a 41-year-old Bark River man who was allegedly struck in the head with a glass bottle around 1 p.m. Monday, according to Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post, the investigating agency.

Troopers found the man in Wells Township after responding to a 9-1-1 report of an injured person attempting to walk away from the scene.

The victim was transported by ambulance to OSF St. Francis Hospital where he was treated for injuries to his head. He was later released from hospital care.

When police made a traffic stop later Monday, Dickerson, a passenger in the vehicle, fled from officers who apprehended him after a brief foot chase. Wahl was arrested without incident at an Escanaba residence Tuesday morning, said troopers.
