Veterans were not forgotten

June 9, 2012

This week's bouquets go to:

From Richard Dufresne of Escanaba:

"I was in Lakeview Cemetery on Memorial Day. A young volunteer was putting flags on Civil War veterans graves. After talking to her I found out it was Jean Rose. God bless you Jean."

From Paul Mitchell the School, Escanaba:

"We would like to thank the local businesses for donating to the Big Brother/Big Sister's Ultimate Outdoor Experience recently held at the DNR Pocket Park. Because of your generosity, a difference was made in a child's life."

From Chris Lundin, Rapid River:

"On behalf of the Rapid River Reading Buddies, I would like to thank the organizations and businesses for their financial support this year. A big thank you to Theresa Nelson, Kathy Neurohr, and the RSVP Program for their help in hosting the end-of year activity. In addition, I would like to thank the Gladstone Library and Gladstone Senior Center for hosting our story hour and pizza party. The children loved their field trip and playing at Kids Kingdom. A special thank you to all the volunteers who made a difference in the life of a child. We look forward to seeing you next year."

From the Moyle family of Escanaba:

"We would like to thank a wonderful fellow, that read my mother-in-law's letter about our 3 year-olds tricycle being stolen. He was so wonderful he went and purchased our son a brand new bicycle, as we could not afford to get a new one for him. He came to our house and gave our son the bike personally. Words can not say how we are feeling right now. You have made our son so so happy. He loves it and rides it all the time. Thank you again. You will always be in our minds and our hearts. God bless you."
