Quit ‘trashing’ roads

May 1, 2012
Daily Press

EDITOR:

On Earth Day - April 22, 2012 - my wife and I walked one mile along our Cornell side road. During that one hour walk we picked up and bagged 45 pounds of trash and enough remained to warrant a second trip. Appalling!

Who tosses this stuff out of the window of their vehicles? Granted, some of the items we gathered were blown from trash cans in the wind, but most was intentionally discarded along the road. If you are not willing to toss it into your own front yard, don't toss it anywhere else!

Whoever you are, the next time you open your window to toss trash on the roadside, remember, we all share one small planet. Please keep a trash bag in your car and dispose of it properly.
