Bergs married 50 years

GLADSTONE - Harold and Lois Berg of Gladstone celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 2 with a family dinner at the D.J. Jacobetti Home where Harold is a resident.

Harold and the former Lois Mattson were united in marriage duirng a ceremony that took place at the Bethel Evangelical Free Church in Gladstone on Sept. 2, 1961. Rev. Paul Oskarson presided over the ceremony. Standing with the groom was his best man, James People, and groomsman, Marvin Sheffer, both friends of the groom. Marie (Erickson) Harper, a friend of the bride, served as maid of honor, and Laura (Sabourin) Foote, a cousin of the bride, was the bridesmaid. Flower girl was Lori (Jones) Moulds, a niece of the bride, and ring bearer was Charles "Chuck" Strom, cousin of the bride.

The Bergs are the parents of two sons, Alan H. Berg of Bradenton, Fla., and Terry E. Berg of Gladstone. They also have two granddaughters, Ashley Bricker and Heather Berg, and two great-grandchildren, Zakary and Ashton.

Harold is the son of the late George and Wanda (Harper) Berg. His special interest is oil painting.

Lois is the daughter of the late Albert and Sadie (Strom) Mattson. Both Harold and Lois enjoyed traveling together.
