VanEnkevorts married 65 years

BARK RIVER - Henry and Agnes VanEnkevort of Bark River celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a gathering at Van's Camp hosted by their daughters, Regina Berg and Pamela Westerberg.

Henry and the former Agnes Holochwost were united in marriage on Oct. 5, 1946, during a ceremony held at St. Patrick Church in Escanaba. Attending the couple were: maid of honor, Priscilla LaFave, sister of the bride; Margaret (Joe) Boch and Edna (Art) Getsloff, sisters of the groom; Vernica (Mike) Skrobiak, sister of the bride; and Clifford and Helen Derouin, cousin of the groom.

Henry and Agnes were both employees of Mead Paper, both retiring on May 27, 1987.

Henry attended Harris School and is a member of AmVets and Seabees. He was also one of the veterans who participated in the recent Upper Peninsula Honor Flight.

A graduate of Harris High School, Agnes attended Bay de Noc Community College and is a Weblo Scout leader.

The VanEnkevorts are both members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.

In addition to their daughters, Regina Berg and Pamela Westerberg, the couple are also the parents of three sons, Peter VanEnkevort and Gordon VanEnkevort of Bark River, and Frederick VanEnkevort of Abrams, Wis.

The couple also has eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
