GLADSTONE - Dale and Joyce Osterberg of Gladstone celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a surprise dinner party at the Terrace Bay Inn. The celebration was hosted by the couple's children.
Dale Osterberg and the former Joyce Druding were wed on June 24, 1961, at All Saints in Gladstone. The ceremony was officiated by the late Monsignor Matt La Violette.
Standing as best man was Terry Hade, cousin of the groom. Groomsman was Sam Tang, best friend of the groom. Maid of honor was the late Mary Jo Meyers, sister of the bride. Bridesmaid was Donna Lamb, sister of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Kay Shappy, sister of the groom.
Joyce and Dale Osterberg
The couple started their new life together in Milwaukee, where Dale was employed with AC Spark Plug as an electronics technician. He returned to Gladstone in 1965 and worked for Mead Corp. until his retirement 1996. Dale is the son of the late Jay and Mary (Connors) Osterberg.
Joyce is the daughter of the late Norman ad Yvonne (La Fleur) Druding. She worked as a dental assistant and office manager until 1978 for the late Dr. A.A. Hollick and then for Dr. R.J. Stanchina, retiring in 1991.
The Osterbergs are the parents of three children, Kathy Robitaille of Gladstone, Jay (Michelle) Osterberg of Newberry, and their late infant daughter Carolyn Louise Osterberg.
They have one granddaughter, Jenna Marie Robitaille.
Together, the couple enjoys golf, hunting, fishing, traveling and spending time with their family.
