This week's bouquets go to:
From Mary Weisse of Rapid River:
"Marinafest was terrific! I want to thank the city of Escanaba, the Escanaba marina staff and, especially, harbormaster Larry Gravatt for a wonderful day last Saturday Aug. 6. The festivities brought many residents and visitors to the truly beautiful Escanaba marina. Mr. Gravatt had worked very hard to assemble food vendors and bands to entertain visitors and introduce them to an often forgotten end of Ludington Park. The marina is not just for boaters, but is a very special place for all of us to enjoy "the most beautiful harbor on the Great Lakes." Having great music all afternoon and evening certainly made the event truly festive. It was fun to see so many people from young to old dancing and enjoying the park and each other. What a great family event. Everyone was courteous and just having a good time. Marinafest was a great complement to the Waterfront Art Festival. I hope it is the first annual."
From The B'est Gals Relay For Life Team:
"The B'est Gals Relay For Life Team (Relay For Life was held June 24 and 25, 2011 at Gladstone Marble Field) would like to extend a big thank-you to our team sponsors. Also, a big thank-you to all the participants of our on-site fund-raisers: Hoo Hair, auction and quilt raffle, bake and craft sale, and who purchased luminaries in honor or in memory of loved ones. A special thank you to Regina Berg of our team who made the queen size quilt that was raffled off. Ann Daly of Gladstone was the lucky winner."
From the Bay de Noc Great Lakes Sportsfishermen, Inc.:
"The Bay de Noc Great Lakes Sportsfishermen, Inc. would like to thank the family of Harold G. Peterson for their contribution to the club in his memory. Donated funds were used to purchase life rings and cases and will be placed throughout Escanaba. In addition, the club would like to thank the Great Lakes First Federal Credit Union for their donation to the spring banquet. We would like to say thanks for your support."
From Sally Timler of Escanaba:
"I would like to give a bouquet to the person who found my wallet outside of the Stonehouse and turned it in. Thank you so much."
From the Delta County Cancer Alliance:
"The Delta County Cancer Alliance wishes to thank everyone that attended the Luminary Walk in the park on Aug. 10. We are sorry that a few names were left off our list 'In Memory Of' - Rachel Talbot, James Talbot, and Mavis Pauley. 'In Honor of' - Dave Jerick, Martin Jerick, Julia Smith, and Judy Jerick."
