Gierkes celebrate silver anniversary

ESCANABA - Craig and Mary Gierke celebrated 25 years of marriage on June 23. The couple celebrated their anniversary with a trip to Milwaukee on June 20. On June 23 they had their marriage blessed by Rev. Nick Thompson during a 4 p.m. Mass held at Holy Spirit Church in Menominee.

Craig and the former Mary Brissette were married in the Menominee church by the late Rev. Pat Wisneski. Matron of honor was the late Suzanne May. Bridesmaids were Susan Boucher, Susan Menke, Mary McLeod and Pam Vogltanz.

Standing as best man was Brady Nelson. Groomsmen were the late Rodney Gierke, John Gierke, Roger Oberg, and Hank Mroczkowski.

Following the anniversary Mass the Gierkes joined with several members of their wedding party and their spouses at a dinner at the former Riverside Country Club.

Craig is manager of the Escanaba Radio Shack and Mary is a substitute teacher in the area. Mary is also an Independent Longaberger sales associate.

Together, the couple has one son, Thomas Craig Gierke.

Mary is the daughter of the late George and Claire Brissette, and Craig is the son of the late Victoria and Sherman Gierke.

The couple resides in Escanaba.
