Bark River-Harris girls say thanks to community

April 2, 2011
Daily Press

This week's bouquets go to:

From Anne Madalinski, Bark River:

"The Bark River-Harris Girls Basketball team would like to send out a big thank you to everyone who helped make their trip downstate so memorable! And most importantly, the fans ... thank you, thank you, thank you!"

From Victoria Frederiksen, family and consumer science teacher, North Central Area Schools:

"Miss Frederiksen at North Central Area Schools would like to extend a thank you to the M & M Area Community Foundation Committee for their approval of the funding for the Family Community Career Leaders of America (FCCLA) organizations for additional funds to attend Regional and State Leadership conferences totaling $500. Students will be utilizing these funds in the coming year as they attend Regional Conference in Escanaba and the State Conference in Midland, Mich.

"Our school can be very proud of the staff for they have been very proactive in searching for extra dollars to assist their student in accruing supplies and money to promote educational experiences and provide service to the community. Each student involved with FCCLA will have the opportunity to partake in several service projects, then preparing a presentation for regional competition where they will also be training and positive experiences with other local schools preparing students as future leaders.

"Many thanks again to the committee, which has made this travel and availability possible for the students at North Central Area Schools."

From the Knights of Columbus of Gladstone:

"The Knights of Columbus of Gladstone would like to thank all the sponsors of the 2011 Snowshoe Shuffle. Because of their charitable support we were able to have an enjoyable and successful event for the competitive runners, the casual walkers and the kids dash. Also a special thank you to all the volunteers that made this event possible."
