ESCANABA - Jim Crawford married the former Mary Kay Bink 40 years ago on Aug. 29, 1970, at St. Joseph Church, Escanaba.
Attending the bride were: Barb Rodman, sister of the bride; Peggy Ammel, Carol Lippens, and Pam Collins, friends of the bride; and Julie Crawford, sister of the groom. Groomsmen were: David Brule, cousin of the groom; and the groom's friends, Bill Fodor, Al Waeghe, John Gorenchan, and Tom DeMerse.
Flower girl was Laurie (Bink) Purovro, niece of the bride. Ringbearer was David Crawford, brother of the groom.

A 40th anniversary celebration was held Aug. 21 at Escanaba Elks Lodge 354. A meal was catered for the immediate family and friends joined them for cheers and dancing. A band from Calumet, Cheap Therapy, provided the music.
An anniversary church service was held Aug. 21. The couple's marriage was blessed by Rev. Fran DeGroot at the 4:30 p.m. Mass at St. Anne's Parish. Barb Rodman cantored the Mass and their three granddaughters were the gift bearers.
Jim is the owner of Crawford Funeral Homes in Escanaba and Bark River. He serves as an usher and minister of the Eucharist at St. Anne's Church. He is a member of Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree, Escanaba Elks Lodge 354, Escanaba Lions Club, Escanaba Eagles, Eskymo Fan Club, American Legion, National Wild Turkey Federation, Rocky Mountain Elks Foundation (life member), Harley Davidson Owners Group, Escanaba Country Club, Escanaba Hockey Blue Line Club and OSF St. Francis Foundation Board. He is also a Jaycee Alumni member.
Jim enjoys golfing, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and being with family, friends and grandchildren.
Mary Kay is an Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics. She serves in the church choir and as minister of the Eucharist at St. Anne's Church. A member of Escanaba Country Club and Jaycettes, Mary Kay also enjoys golfing, riding on Jim's motorcycle, and being with family, friends and grandchildren.
The couple has two daughters - Chrisy Grandahl and Caren Crawford, both of Escanaba. They also have three granddaughters - Carissa, 15, Cassie, 12, and Courtney, 9.
