Lawrence - Robinette

BARK RIVER - Robert and Nancy Robinette of Bark River celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary April 15.

Robert Robinette married the former Nancy Ann Lawrence April 15, 1950, during a ceremony at St. Joseph Church in Foster City.

Robert retired from Chicago and Northwestern Railroad in 1986, after 37 years. Nancy was the owner of Nancy's Beauty Shop, a business she operated 1956 until 2000.

An Army veteran of World War II, Robert is a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. He has enjoyed hunting, playing cards, gardening and golfing.

Nancy is a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton choir, American Legion Auxiliary and Highland Golf Club. She enjoys playing cards, knitting, reading and golfing.

The Robinettes have resided in Bark River for 57 years and are members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church of Bark River.

The couple are the parents of eight children - Diane (Dave) Cannon, Robert Jr. (Janie) Robinette, Janice (Lee) Robitaille, Luanne (Nick) Knauf, John (Mary Jo) Robinette, Cheryl (Dan) Pach, Paul (Cindy) Robinette, and Barbara Cappaert, all of Delta County.

The couple also has 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
