Nation’s infrastructure in dire straits
EDITOR:
Crumbling roads, collapsing bridges, worn out sewer plants, broken water mains, deteriorating pipelines, and rustic underground services; all of which are in desperate and immediate need for repair.
The rate of this massive decay is growing rapidly endangering our lives and our security.
Every man, woman, and child in the country are either directly or indirectly impacted by our infrastructure. I ask then, what in the world could be more of an utmost priority?
News reports confirm that the economy may be making some slight gains; a glimmer of trivial hope. Seems like we're just treading water, a sink or swim purgatory.
We've received no bail-outs, and received only a consistent melt down of our dreams! The only way is up and the path to our new successes.
Doing nothing is not an option. Prolonging the inevitable is not an option. We must go forward. It is imperative to resolve this possible - catastrophic disaster.
Getting our country back on track - the back to work track! Rebuilding, renewing, stabilizing, and restructuring. Let our nations workers do what they know best, their jobs!
Michigan has one of the highest unemployment rates in our country. Our metropolitan districts and our rural area are in critical and unacceptable conditions to this mess we're in. The answer is clear, jobs!
Jobs are the key to opening doors and for endless possibilities toward a better world.
All we need to prove is once again - an honest days work equals an honest days pay!
Our government has said that only half of the stimulus monies have been used. I can only hope that they will wise up and spend the rest on the creations of more jobs and therefore securing our infrastructure.
This can happen and could be the greatest economic boost and economic recovery plan of our decade.
Millions of workers earn their paycheck billions of dollars distributed to each family. Let's get our country back on track to its rightful owners!
