GLADSTONE - Barbara (Tardiff) and Fred Pfiester of Gladstone recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple's children hosted a reception June 20 at Gladstone's Van Cleve Park, in honor of their parents.
The couple was united in marriage June 20, 1959, at All Saints Catholic Church, Gladstone.
Attending the bride were Carol Rabitoy, maid of honor, and Nancy Blair, bridesmaid. Both were friends of the bride.

Standing for the groom were Wayne Louis, best man, and Ellwood Erickson, groomsmen. Both were friends of the groom.
Fred retired from Mead Paper in 2002. He is a member of Gladstone Golf Club and Papermakers Local 21.
Barb retired in 2002 as well, from Pat and Jim's Deli and from her position as the treasurer's assistant for the city of Gladstone. She is a member of All Saints Church and Gladstone Golf Club.
The Pfiesters raised six children together - Dean Pfiester of Escanaba, Teresa Pfiester of Roanoke, Va., Martin Pfiester of Quinnesec, Andrew Pfiester of King George, Va., Steven Pfiester of Oregon, Ohio, and Mary Popelka of Escanaba.
The couple also has 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Fred and Barb are enjoying their retirement by traveling in their motorhome, golfing and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
