STONINGTON - Marvin Dawson married the former Donna Greenlaw fifty years ago, June 21, 1958, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Traverse City. Original attendants were Larry Bargy, friend of the groom, and Judith Steusel, friend of the bride.
An anniversary reception, hosted by the couple's three children, took place at the Stonington Community Hall June 21. They couple was joined by 175 guests, including many out-of-town family members and friends. The celebration included a catered dinner and music by the Generations Band. A brunch was also held the following day at the Dawson's home for the out-of-town guests.
Marvin is retired from Holnam, Inc., as a market manger. He is an active member of the Gladstone Lions Club, having served as past president and a former Lion of the Year.

Donna retired from the State of Michigan Department of Social Services as a case worker. She is a member of the Red Hat Society and is a former board member of the U.P. State Credit Union.
Both Marvin and Donna have been long-time members of the Gladstone Golf Club and are active members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stonington. Together, they enjoy spending winters in Golf Shores, Ala.
The couple has three children - Kimberly (Chris) Anderson, Escanaba, Pam (Paul) Bialik, Gladstone, Doug, Kipling. They also have six grandchildren - Laura and Christina Anderson, Kristen, Kayla and Jennifer Bialik and Danny Dawson.
