How many times, have you ever heard clergy in delta county ever speak about local needs and local problems

from their bully pulpit on Saturdays or Sundays?

How much time and how many times have the churches, commissions, councils talked about spreading the ecumenical spirit to help people in need in their local church area?

Most notably, it’s remarkable at Thanksgiving,

but what about the rest of the year?

Do local problems just disappear and take care of themselves the rest of the year?

Don’t you kind of whish they’d express their “christian faith and values” on a localized basis as much,

as compared to how much they are willing to send money elsewhere?

One guesses that it’s easier to “whish” money away by writing a check or electronic transfer.

Come to think of it:

How many times have you seen young people and young families in church . .

it's beginning to look a lot like xmas, silver and gold,

hairs and teeth in church ?

Rather than sending local money to areas outside our community,

area local churches should experience having hands on knowledge, and incorporate helping those in need locally

as their mission to help people in need in our area.

Let our local clergy and their congregations show by example,

by leading the way to make room and homes for the homeles, make room for them in the inn, while on their lifes journies to help homeless in our area as one of their notations in their never-ending mission statements and requests for money every Sunday morning.

Perhaps a novel event could be instituted at each church once a month and make a SECOND or in SOME CASES, a THIRD COLLECTION, and earmark the FIRST collection for the homeless in Delta County.

Or, designate the entire tithe to the homeless once a month to simplify their church accounts and CPA, for tax and charitable giving purposes.
