At what time and how much control do we as citizens wish to allow the rich, their political party, their businesses and corporations to control every aspect of our daily lives ?

United States Citizens have

MISTAKENLY,

for VERY cheap reasons,

turned over control of

EVERY aspect of their entire lives and daily lives,

to the rich,

their two-party system,

their political party of choice the GOP - the infamous Guardians Of Profit,

their businesses and their corporations ….

Think for a minute, these corporations that control the internet, telcoms, media companies . . .

- They,

- THE RICH,

- THEIR BUSINESS and THEIR CORPORATIONS

- CONTROL EVERYTHING

- Pricing,

- How we receive information.

- What information we receive,

And NOW the self-serving rich

- are lobbying congress and the FCC

- for the right to determine

- WHAT SPEED and

- WHAT CONTENT

- WHAT INFORMATION WE WILL BE ABLE TO ACCESS over the internet and via cable and every other information outlet . ..

With TOO MUCH

- CONCENTRATION OF POWER

allowed to reside

- in so few LARGE CORPORATIONS

- in control of our EVERYDAY LIVES,

and that with

- EVERY PASSING DAY

- THE POSSIBILITY IS FAR MORE PROPABLE

- that the rich

- WILL SELL their corporations

- TO FOREIGNERS

- WHO WILL DECIDE

- HOW TO EXERCISE CONTROL OF THIS COUNTRY

- by foreigners

- we stand to LOOSE COMPLETE CONTROL

of our lives and our right to self determination

all because of the

EXCHANGE OF HUGE SUMS OF MONEY

To PROFIT THE RICH

Vote NO !!. Think about this, it is simple logic, really.

And what about that kitty of money the power plant has payed into for a long time ? I would think it must be a large sum by now.

Be smart. Vote NO.

At a recent gathering of the electrical co·gno·scen·ti,

the sage savants of the bay area economic club,

it was explained to these sages,

how the ATC keeps the

“light’s burning”

at the end of their 9,500 mile extension cord.

To get a better idea of where Escanaba residents stand in the scheme of electrical extension cord things,

a better presentation would have explained

where the ATC makes its money,

its customer base,

its revenue base, and

its profit base.

This would paint a vivid picture,

and present a vivid explanation

where Escanaba sits at the end of

that 9,500 mile long,

inordinate and extensively long extension cord.

Since,

council and the city management have placed residents

at the end of a very

LONG EXTENSION CORD

where recently 625 residents lost power,

where does Escanaba stand in terms of having our power cut,

when other areas are deemed more important to receive what electrons are available for distribution ?

Residents of Escanaba,

have finally wokeup to the fact,

albeit that very quietly, stealthfully and surreptitiously,

the city council has placed them at the end of an extension cord a year or so ago, and

represent nothing more than a ONE WATT LIGHT BULB

(incandescent)

to the Florida company and the ATC,

located somewhere within that long

9,500 mile path of

transmission lines and

more than 500 sub-stations,

a long way away from generation sources, and barely ever in the minds about reliability, but ever in ATC minds about profit from this extension cord distribution system. for those who produce and transmit our electricity these days.

Escanaba are YOU LISTENING! - "IF" the MISO has to take time to decide if we retire the plant, it will cost you $125,000 a MONTH to keep the facility operational - Well, IF the sale fails YOU will have $2,000,000 from the failed sale! - How many MONTHS will two million last? 16 MONTHS! MISO can take 16 months to decide if we can RETIRE the plant!

What I think is that we are simply LOOKING for an excuse to place the blame for this botched deal on the Voters! - You told us the sale was going blazing guns f'sure, on April 15th.. now it's been delayed again. yet again until May 9th?! Oh, and after a VOTE on Tuesday?!! Just STOP! Postpone any further actions until AFTER the sale - we'll have 16 months after that!!!

The FINAL sale has been moved to the FRIDAY 'after' the TUESDAY vote?.. Gwan!.. yer kidding, really?!

This City has GOT to stop laying the BLAME for this on the VOTE of the People.. On the 'credit worthyness' of some company with a hand full of promises.. Just STOP threatening us!

You FORCED a "YES" vote to SELL the Plant.. now want a RUSH RUSH Vote "YES" to tear it down.. "if, if, if" always an "Unknown, If" fear layed in there..

"You know of course, "IF" you don't vote to tear down the plant, and "IF" someone stops giving us money, then we will HAVE to raise your rates 12 percent!.. Right now we're buying 100% of our power from someone and selling it to you - Yeah, I know we promised that if you let us SELL the plant your rates wouldn't go up.. but now we're saying they will because you won't let us TEAR IT DOWN.. Just STOP this 5 year line of BS! - you forced the vote in 2009 and here we sit!

"Escanaba is selling the plant, because it's less expensive to buy power" (I get that...) "Escanaba will continue to purchase 100 percent of it's power from NextEra, and has since Jan 1 2012 (2 years!!) I get that too!

So, what is all this BS about rates going up if the plant stays open? What's this about "We gotta sell to save money?" We have been paying 100% of our power at NextEra's cost PLUS City of Escanaba gouging for the past 2 years!..

If the Vote to TEAR it down is so important that it has to be voted on BEFORE a final sale takes place, and the sale is so 'SHAKEY' - What's the deal with WAITING to see if the sale goes down?

Escanaba STOP trying to Manipulate the Vote to suit yourselves.. Let's start anew the SAVE the Power Plant program! and STOP fearing the THREATS!
